Collaborating with Your Team

Share a model with your team or the public, work on it together in real time, manage your team and transfer ownership.

Metapad models are shared, live documents: everyone who has access sees the same model, and changes reach the others instantly.

Sharing a model

Click Share in the top bar. The Share Model dialog sets who can open the model:

• Private: only you.
• Team: all members of a team can open and edit it. For a model in your personal account, pick the team. Moving a model into a team is permanent.
• Public: anyone with the link can view it, no account needed.

Click Save. Copy Link in the top bar copies the address of what you're looking at, so you can point a colleague straight to a diagram or element.

Working at the same time

• Changes sync instantly; there is no save button and no merge step.
• Everyone's edits land in the same undo-aware history, and the Versions tab shows the model's saved versions.

Managing your team

In the Model Gallery, open the team selector in the top bar and click Manage Team (the gear next to a team). There you Invite by email and see who is an admin and who is a member.

Transferring ownership

Every model has one Owner, shown in the Share dialog. The owner holds the model's settings, API tokens and webhooks.

1. In the Share dialog, click Transfer… next to the owner.
2. Pick a member under Transfer ownership to and click Transfer.

• Only the owner or an admin of the owning team can transfer.
• Only team models can be transferred, and they must be shared with the team first. Otherwise the button is greyed out with the reason below it.
• The previous owner keeps edit access but loses the settings, API tokens and webhooks. The new owner sees You are now the owner of this model.

Tips

• Agree who works on which part of the model. Separate diagrams make this easy.
• Use Public for models you want to show widely, and a publication when readers should get a curated website (see Publishing and Sharing Your Site).
