Organizing with Folders
BeginnerOrganizing with Folders
Folders help you organize model elements into logical groups in the Tree View.
Creating a Folder
- In the Tree View, right-click or use the context menu
- Select New Folder
- Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Infrastructure", "Team", "Phase 1")
Moving Elements into Folders
- Drag a node, relationship, or diagram in the Tree View
- Drop it onto a folder
- The element is now nested inside that folder
Nesting Folders
- Folders can contain other folders for deeper organization
- Example: "Infrastructure" > "Production" > "EU Region"
Tips
- Folders are purely organizational — they don't affect the model structure or metamodel constraints
- Use folders when your Tree View gets crowded
- Consider organizing by domain area, project phase, or team responsibility
- Folders can be collapsed in the Tree View to reduce clutter
