Organizing with Folders

Folders help you organize model elements into logical groups in the Tree View.

Creating a Folder

  1. In the Tree View, right-click or use the context menu
  2. Select New Folder
  3. Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Infrastructure", "Team", "Phase 1")

Moving Elements into Folders

  1. Drag a node, relationship, or diagram in the Tree View
  2. Drop it onto a folder
  3. The element is now nested inside that folder

Nesting Folders

  • Folders can contain other folders for deeper organization
  • Example: "Infrastructure" > "Production" > "EU Region"

Tips

  • Folders are purely organizational — they don't affect the model structure or metamodel constraints
  • Use folders when your Tree View gets crowded
  • Consider organizing by domain area, project phase, or team responsibility
  • Folders can be collapsed in the Tree View to reduce clutter
